Netflix has always been a great service for watching movies and TV shows, but what about playing games? Now, with Netflix’s new mobile app, you can enjoy ad-free mobile games without having to pay for a monthly subscription. There are a few games that are included with your subscription, but there are also many more that you can download for free. One of the best things about these games is that they’re not just mindless entertainment. They can be used as learning tools, or even as opportunities to improve your skills. So if you’re looking for an enjoyable way to pass the time on your phone, Netflix’s new mobile app is definitely worth checking out.

Netflix is currently pushing a bunch of mobile games to its platform, so if you were expecting to play console games or anything of that sort, you’re going to be disappointed. Still, the company has a pretty solid set of games ready for day one, including a couple of Stranger Things games that should make fans of the show happy.

In total, there are five games available from four different developers. Frosty Pop created Shooting Hoops and Teeter Up. BonusXP made Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3: The Game. Finally, developers Amuzo and Rogue Games teamed up to create Card Blast.

In a blog post formally announcing the arrival of mobile games, Netflix said, “Whether you’re craving a casual game you can start from scratch or an immersive experience that lets you dig deeper into your favorite stories, we want to begin to build a library of games that offers something for everyone. We’re in the early days of creating a great gaming experience, and we’re excited to take you on this journey with us.”

While the selection of games is somewhat limited, Netflix says, “We’re excited to continue improving our mobile gaming experience and adding to our entertainment offering in the months ahead.” That means there will be other stuff to play in the future, but we’ll have to wait.

The company pointed out that games are included as part of your subscription. There are no ads, additional fees, or in-app purchases. That means they won’t cost anything other than the Netflix subscription you already have.

Right now, Netflix’s games are available on Android in the existing Netflix app, and iOS is scheduled to happen later.
